my main objection to ImageMagick is that it requires creating intermediary files rather than operating entirely within memory
but I realise, I could get Python Image to save each frame individually to a .gif - but save to in-memory string streams instead of to files!
then I could yank out the already-encoded...

I didn’t wanna use those gif sites because they seem dirty
and so I downloaded a python thing to hook into my webcam so it’ll just take pictures when I hit spacebar and then knit them...
